Timing changes the price more than anything else
Ten lessons in the autumn of Year 12, spent fixing the transition from IGCSE to A Level, does more for a final grade than thirty lessons in the spring of Year 13. This is not a sales line; it is what the grade data of every A Level cohort shows. The specification is cumulative, so an unaddressed weakness in the first year is still being paid for in the second, and the second year has less room to pay.
The other cost driver is predicted grades. Universities make offers on predictions issued long before the exams, which means the grade that decides your offer is set by your performance in Year 12 and early Year 13. Tutoring aimed at a prediction is a different, earlier and usually smaller purchase than tutoring aimed at the final paper.
Tell us the board, not just the subject
Edexcel, AQA, OCR and Cambridge International examine the same subject differently — different options, different practical requirements, different mark schemes. A tutor matched to "A Level Chemistry" without the board is a tutor who may be teaching the wrong specification. It is the first question we ask.
One-to-one lesson packages
Every lesson is 90 minutes with the same tutor. The per-lesson rate falls as the package grows, and the single lesson exists so you can meet a tutor before committing to a block.
